The story is about a a Gurugram-based startup called wobb. Ishan Jindal founded Wobb in 2020 to connect stakeholders in the creation of content. It handles hiring, execution, and post campaign processes for brands. The business side of things is taken care of by Wobb, freeing up their time for creative work.

The app was launched in March. The startup wants to focus on the app, rather than the website, to drive business.

How did wobb come into existence?

Ishan built a mobile app for auto crash detection when he was in college. The app was used to detect road accidents. He built a software for workforce management in the third year of his program.

Pizzabox is a quick-service restaurant that he opened in Delhi.

Ishan started his role as head of investment at Lead Angles after two years there. He was the founding member of the Angels Academy.

Ishan was at Lead Angels looking into investing. He didn’t find any worth investing in.

The platform was built by the entrepreneur for influencer marketing.

Ishan tells that his idea was not to start this on his own but to invest. I was looking at companies in different areas for about six months. I didn’t find anything that could solve the problems in this space that were active.

Can a platform help brands connect with multiple people and vice versa?, was the problem statement according to Ishan.

He decided to build the platform in 2020. We worked for over a year. Since then, we have grown rapidly to become one of the most important companies in this space by following the key thing of simplification of influencer marketing for brands and working towards making things easier for them.

What are the next steps for Wobb?

In October of last year, the startup raised Rs 2.1 crore.

It has completed 5,000 campaigns, which include brands like Plum Goodness, Emami, Colorbar, Dabur, and HDFC Life. It claims to work with over one hundred thousand brands on its platform.

The technology was developed in-house.

The fee is 10 percent of the monthly earnings of the person.

The South East Asian markets are where Wobb plans to grow. We would like to expand our presence in the region. The founder says they have done some campaigns in that area.

There are 55 people working at wobb.

The Indian influencer marketing industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 25 percent over the next five years.

Ishan says that the next decade is for creators and that they are setting up their own companies and becoming brands themselves.
