Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case: NCB filed a draft case against actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty

In connection with a narcotics case connected to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday filed a draft case against actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, and others before a special court in Mumbai.
Atul Sarpande, a special public prosecutor, reportedly told the news agency PTI that the prosecution continued to press charges against each and every accused as set forth in the charge sheet submitted to the court.

On June 14, 2020, Sushant’s body was discovered at his Bandra home. The CBI is looking into the circumstances surrounding his death. Following that, the Narcotics Control Bureau and Enforcement Directorate each conducted independent investigations into the case.
When Rhea, Sushant’s girlfriend at the time, was detained in connection with the case in September 2020, the Bombay High Court promptly granted her bail. Showik and a number of other people are also charged in the case with drug usage, possession, and funding. The majority of them are on bail.

According to the article, the prosecution has asked the court to indict Rhea and Showik for consuming drugs as well as for obtaining and paying for them for Sushant. The court was set to file charges against each defendant, according to the special public prosecutor. However, it was impossible because some of the accused filed for discharge.

According to what the court has stated, the charges won’t be filed until the discharge pleas have been resolved. On Wednesday, Rhea, Showik, and the other defendants appeared before the court.
The case was set for hearing on July 12 by special judge V G Raghuwanshi.

Rhea recently posted flashback pictures and an homage to Sushant on Instagram on the occasion of his second death anniversary. She wrote, “Miss you every day.”
